LIVE: Yin Yoga for Presence
Stimulating the kidney meridian line and exploring the wisdom to be found in presence
Note: Apologies for the glitch with sending February’s newsletter. The self-care prompts for this month include the wisdom of physical symptoms, detoxifying oils, dosha-balancing breakfast bowls and shaking. (An eclectic mix of self-care rituals!) You can read it HERE if you couldn’t access it in last week’s email.
We gather this Sunday 11th February, 9-10am for a yin yoga practice for the wisdom of the present moment.
If you’re unable to make it live, this post will be updated with the recording soon after.
Our 60-minute gathering will be a practice of mindfulness and presence.
As we move between contraction and expansion in our bodies, we’ll invite a softening of our hard edges, a loosening of grip, thawing. Just like water settles at its lowest level, we’ll aim to find a sense of fluidity and ease - both in the body, as well as with thoughts, feelings and sensations that arise. We will practice witnessing and then settling, like water.
I’ll draw insight from the water element through the Traditional Chinese Medicine lens, linked to the kidney meridian. The kidneys, responsible for regulating the body’s water metabolism, balance the yin and yang energies in the body. They house our vital energy (jing), a finite inherited energy. Being able to move into rest, the settling of the waters, we can conserve this energy.
