Yoga Nidra for Winter's Rest
Create a cosy cocoon and be guided into a state of deep, deep rest
Each month, I share a yoga nidra practice to guide you into deep rest…
A 25-minute guided practice that uses yoga nidra techniques to induce a state of deep, deep rest.
This yogic sleep technique, sometimes referred to as non-sleep deep rest, is so nourishing - ideal for this season of rest. We are, as
says, “wintering”. Yoga nidra helps to calm the nervous system, heal the body and quieten the mind. I’ve heard yoga nidra described as a full-body massage for your nervous system… In other words, blissful. It’s designed to help you drop into the deepest state of rest and relaxation. All you need is a warm and comfortable space where you can be uninterrupted throughout. You may like additional props for underneath the knees and the head, as well as extra layers and a blanket for warmth.
In this meditation for winter’s rest, I will guide you through a body scan, a short breathing practice, and visualisation. (Practice begins at 2:21)
As always, please take responsibility for your own wellbeing and listen to your body’s wisdom. Make any adjustments you need and adapt the practice for any contraindications.
Settle down and enjoy this time of rest. I’d love to hear how you find this.
