What happens here?
My intention is to inspire ways that you can feel truly nurtured - maybe that’s allowing the body to unwind, the breath to deepen, to soothe and regulate a nervous system stuck on high alert. It may be creative play for you or feeling the nourishment of rest. A soft sigh of contentment and presence, a slower way of being. It’s not about the absence of external noise, but the dialling down of the relentless internal distraction.
This is a space for the body to guide you, softening the armour. It allows the inner knowing, your intuitive sense to be heard. This is a space for creativity and for free expression of your fullest self. It’s in the quiet that moments of reconnection with your self happen, little by little.
Why now?
One of the biggest joys of teaching wellbeing workshops in the small market town I call home has been the sense of community it fostered. I would love to create a similar sense of community and connection here too. For all the ways to connect available at our fingertips, it feels like we’re starved of the deep connection that community offers.
And, why now? Because offering a haven for stressed out and overwhelmed women, unable to switch off and frustrated with the odds stacked against them, feels needed. I see it among my friends, private clients and in my community - the relentless striving for impossibly-high standards that leads to physical burnout, a nervous system stuck in dysregulation, the loss of identity, self-esteem and sense of self.
Lastly, my personal intention is to develop a deeper relationship with you, dear reader. I have long since written for my own sense of expression and, as Joan Didion famously said, “I don’t know what I think until I write it down”. As well as a space to share my thoughts, I hope to create conversation and connection and to also understand what you think too.
Here you’ll find tips, insights and personal essays on wellbeing, creative living and personal growth. I might also encourage a little rebellion for all of us malnourished of rest through live practices and online gatherings. I also share recommendations for moments of quiet - books, music, meditations, podcast episodes, words from other writers and inspirations.
